Organisation

When everythinggoes through the boss

The business has grown, the organisation has not. We distribute responsibility so that decisions are made where the knowledge is.

In short

Organisational consulting at FNLY Consulting means clarifying roles and responsibilities, building a management structure that fits the size of the business and defining decision paths. The result is an organisation chart, role descriptions and clear rules on who decides what. Typical for businesses with around 20 or more employees whose owners are overloaded with operational work.

How to tell that the organisation has not grown with the business

  • Approvals wait for the management, even for small amounts
  • Employees ask instead of deciding
  • Responsibilities are not written down anywhere, just known
  • The management's holidays slow the business down
  • Good people leave because they see no room to act
  • The same mistakes happen again and again at the same handovers

What we build together

Roles and responsibility

Who is responsible for what, and what may each role decide on its own?

Management structure

Matched to the size: from around 20 employees a second management level, from around 50 departments with their own responsibility.

Decision paths

Clear limits for approvals, budgets and exceptions. Fewer follow-up questions, faster decisions.

Meetings

A few fixed meetings with a clear purpose instead of many quick conversations in passing.

Handovers

Where tasks move between departments, we record who delivers and who takes over.

Introduction in the team

New roles are developed with the people affected, not over their heads.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

At what size does a business need a second management level?

There is no fixed number. In practice, things get tight between 15 and 25 employees if everyone reports directly to the management. What matters is how many decisions land on the management's desk each day.

How do you prevent the team from rejecting the change?

By having the people affected help develop their roles. We design the target picture with the management and then refine it in workshops with the future responsible persons.

What does organisational consulting cost?

You start with the assessment for €3,500 net. For the target picture and workshops we usually expect three to five days at €1,200 net each. Support afterwards is optional and can be cancelled monthly.

Do you also help fill new management roles?

We describe the role and the requirements and, if you wish, support conversations with internal candidates. We do not offer recruitment services.
